Springhaven is a small kennel located in Lanham, Maryland. I
have been breeding and showing dogs for about 30 years now
actually starting with Chow Chows. About 10 years ago I
acquired my first Belgian Malinois, Ch. Broadcreek’s Just Clyde
and from there expanded, now owning 5 Malinois.
Ch. Broadcreek’s Just Clyde was the #8 Malinois in the country
in the year 2000. He won an Award of Merit at the
Westminster Kennel Club Show held in New York City that
year.
I belong to several Breed Clubs for Belgian Malinois and have maintained my membership in Chow Chow Clubs also. I love to
judge and find it especially fun when judging puppies! I have judged several all breed match shows for various Kennel Clubs in
the Washington-Maryland area. I try to participate and support my Breed Clubs by helping to put on shows, donating trophies,
or entering shows.
My goal is to breed a dog that has both a sound mind and a sound body. These features go hand in hand with each other; without
one, the other suffers. I do not produce mass litters and feel quality not quantity is a must. All of my breeding stock have their
AKC Championships.
Since most of my puppies go to companion homes, soundness is of the upmost importance. All of my puppies are microchipped
before they go to their new home, they are checked out not only by a veterinarian before leaving but also a cardiologist. Belgian
Malinois are very healthy dogs but occasionally a puppy will show up with a heart murmur.
I stand behind my puppies all the way. I am always available for questions, training, showing, and any other help one might need
with their new family member. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at any time!
